John Kilner is the recognised expert on media print issues, persuasive writing and analysis of media language. John worked on The Education Age for nineteen years, and conducted school visits from the very first year of his years working for the supplement. Now freelancing, John is available to bring that experience, knowledge, and skilled communication to your students.
Your students can take advantage of talks and hands on seminars focussed on the following topics:

- "Issues in the Media";
- a focus on visual persuasion through cartoons and images;
- working in small groups on the difficult task of understanding a persuasive writers task.

A further specialty is middle school issues (he
has conducted a workshop each year for some years
at the annual VATE Conference on this theme).
