DARYLL BELLINGHAM STORYTELLER & NARRATIVE CONSULTANT
Daryll firmly believes that telling stories is an intrinsic part of our day-to-day life. While some of us tell stories almost as an afterthought, other people are acutely aware of how powerful stories can be and tell them in specific ways to achieved desired results. As a performance artist, Daryll knows only to well that storytelling is a two way process, so he makes sure his stories are carefully chosen and performed in an appropriate way for each group. Each session is unique as he responds to the energy of the audience. Daryll likes to present a variety of stories and thinks it's important for students to realise that stories are celebrated around the world. That said, he also enjoys presenting some of the local traditions like the 'yarn' and the 'tall story' and telling stories that explore and celebrate local Australian settings and characters. FEEDBACK "It has been a joy to watch the captivated expressions on the children's faces as they listen to and participate in Daryll's stories - his style is energetic, polished, participative and always appropriate to the interests and abilities of the audience. His ability to improvise and involve the children in the telling of his stories is excellent." - Jennifer Slattery, Support and Youth Services Librarian, Redlands Shire Library. |
