POET

Adam
Ford has read his writing for audiences all over
Australia, including schools, festivals, museums,
galleries, cafes, pubs, loungerooms and public
transport.

His
first novel, MAN BITES DOG
(Allen & Unwin), follows the misadventures of
a recent Uni graduate in Melbourne's inner city.
NOT QUITE THE MAN FOR THE
JOB, also published by Allen & Unwin, is
a collection of laconic Melbourne poetry that
is of great appeal to students.

Adam
has been editor of journals including Voiceworks,
&, moments and the zine anthology
Chimp Frenzy. He publishes an irregular
zine called Jutchy Ya Ya and has also published
a bunch of comics.
Currently
co-editor of the annual literary journal Going
Down Swinging, Adam has worked as an editor,
copywriter, security guard, teacher, music journalist,
paperboy, librarian and sold deep-fried chicken
for a short period in the early nineties.

He
has taught many workshops and short courses for
universities, secondary schools, libraries and
city councils across Australia on topics as diverse
as poetry, zine-making, music journalism, fan
fiction, self-publishing and how to scam free
stuff.
Adam
is currently studying graphic design and animation
at RMIT TAFE, with the hope of one day being able
to make the Godlings dance the tarantella. You
