She
had 2 years out of the department to work in the
'Professional and Education Unit' of the Department
of Human Services. Her work there involved training
professionals to identify and respond to child
abuse and neglect.
As
a trained social worker and teacher Chris has
extensive experience in working directly with
children and adolescents in schools. Her work
has involved counselling students and their parents
individually and in-groups. She has facilitated
many successful professional development sessions
for teachers and parents on a range of topics.
Chris
now works as a Training and Development Consultant,
providing consultancy to a wide range of private
and public sector organisations. She is also actively
involved in the tertiary sector, teaching students
in the Bachelor of Social Work and the Graduate
Diploma of Student Welfare at Melbourne University.
