B
IS FOR BRAVO,
the culmination of more than fifteen hundred days
and nights of hard work, is Kevin's first published
book that he has written as well as illustrated.
Charting the development of human flight, each image
is a painstakingly created diorama. The scenes took
so much time to construct that Kevin often created
pieces at family barbeques!
|
|
The
BRAVO models are now
available for schools to lease per term - a good
way for kids to experience these complex works
up close and excellent to assist project work.
Kevin's
latest publication is ANTARCTIC
DAD, written by Hazel Edwards. Read how
the wonder of email enables this family to keep
up with the day to day things while Dad is down
south on the icy continent! |

Using
his unique humorous manner, Kevin gives workshops on
illustration, sketching, cartooning and photo collage
that are suitable for all year levels. He also shows
his work and explains the various approaches he uses
in creating it.
Watch a short clip about Kevin's school visits.

"Thank
you for sending the wonderful Kevin Burgemeestre to
our school yesterday. He pitched each talk at the level
of the students attending and had them eating out of
his hand with his storytelling of the evil rubber.
He was a fabulous guest speaker who entertained the
staff as much as the students."
-
Thomastown Meadows Primary School"The
children were extremely interested in the way that Kevin
illustrates and enjoyed his presentaion. He left them
with things to think about and attempt themselves when
illustrating their stories. He emphasised that there
is no wrong illustration and not to use
erasers two very valuable points for our young
illustrators." -
Epping Primary School"Very
entertaining, informative and enjoyable. Kevin had a
great range of ideas to share with the children and
he had a lot of examples of his work which they liked
looking at when he handed things around."
