YVONNE FEIN AUTHOR
Yvonne Fein is a performed and published playwright, novelist and editor. Graduating from Deakin and Melbourne Universities, she majored in Creative Writing and History respectively. Currently, Yvonne is a lecturer for the Florence Melton Adult Education Programme. Her poetry, short stories, essays, book reviews and interviews have appeared in journals, and newspapers, locally and in the U.S. She has edited The Melbourne Chronicle and Generation journals, as well as award-winning Holocaust memoirs by survivors. She has been a writer in residence at Mount Scopus and Bialik Colleges and has lectured extensively in the Jewish and wider Australian community. Her one-act plays were performed by the Melbourne Theatre Company at Sunday readings and a full-length drama, ON EDGE, at the Jewish Arts Festival and the Universal Theatre in Melbourne. Her novel, APRIL FOOL, was published by Hodder in 2001 and its sequel, UNDER THE INFLUENCE, is almost complete. Most recently, she completed writing the script of A CELEBRATION OF WOMEN. Starring Evelyn Krape, Tomi Kalinski & Elisa Gray, it is being directed by Charles Slucki & will be performed in February 2003.
