ILLUSTRATOR / GRAPHIC DESIGNER /
CARTOONIST & TEACHER

Randy has had 12 years experience working in the commercial illustration and design industry. Prior to this, he worked as a primary teacher for 15 years.

Over this period, Randy amassed an enormous amount of experience in the illustration, design and advertising industry. Along with his talent for creative illustration, Randy has developed substantial skills in digital illustration and graphic design.

Randy lists among his clients, companies such as CADBURY SCWEPPES, THE AFL, ARNOTTS, NESTLE, ARISTOCRAT and many more.

Although Randy has created many distinctive packaging designs (some of which can be easily recognized by children and adults alike), his forte is in turning the written or spoken word into colourful visual images.

Some of the more recognizable characters Randy has developed include THE BRISBANE LION, THE SYDNEY SWAN, YOGO GORILLA AND CO, HUMPTY DUMPTY, the ARNOTTS MONSTERS and more recently KARAK, the black cokatoo mascot for the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

In addition to owning and operating a successful illustration and design business (Toon Co.) with his wife Julie, Randy conducts a variety of talks and workshops at Primary, Secondary and Tertiary level.

These include-
* VCE VICSOM OUTCOMES
* COMMERCIAL ILLUSTRATION
* PACKAGING DESIGN
* PICTURE STORY ILLUSTRATION
* CHARACTER CREATION
* ACTION FIGURES
* CARTOONING
* CARICATURES

* PHOTOSHOP AND ILLUSTRATOR TECHNIQUES

Randy is keen to talk to and work with students and teachers at all levels and to pass on the knowledge and expertise he has developed over the years.

He uses an interactive approach and is happy to tailor his workshops to meet the individual needs of teachers, students and schools.

Randy brings with him a unique insight into the world of commercial illustration and design which students may not otherwise have an opportunity to experience.
