WRITING MASTERCLASS WITH ODO HIRSCH

BookedOut offers the rare opportunity for secondary school students to experience a writing Masterclass with one of Australia's leading writers for young people, Odo Hirsch.

Odo Hirsch is the author of numerous books through Allen & Unwin, including YOSS, ANTONIO S and THE MYSTERY OF THOEDORE GUZMAN, and the HAZEL GREEN series, and the recipient of multiple award nominations. He is widely published internationally, both in English and in translation. His writing is noted for its humour, characterisation and wonderful use of language.

Now Odo is available to lead a limited number of Masterclasses for talented secondary school students. Each Masterclass will focus intensively on one key aspect of creative writing, such as Dialogue, Characterisation, or Descriptive Richness. While providing a deep conceptual understanding of the subject, the Masterclass will focus on hands-on, participative skill development. Students will work collectively with Odo in creating a piece of writing and then hone their capabilities individually under Odo's guidance.

An opportunity for talented young writers to experience the skills and inspiration of a true master storyteller.

The session would be three hours in length, with a twenty minute break. A maximum of 15 secondary school students per session, ideally each with their own laptop. The sessions would take place in Term 4, 2003 - from late October onwards. For more information contact us at Booked Out.
