Michael Panckridge is a senior teacher at Geelong College and author of the renowned THE LEGENDS series, which is the culmination of many years of dedicated sports mania combined with an enthusiastic exploration of what boys and girls really want to read.

As a sport enthusiast, Michael has played cricket, football, soccer, tennis hockey and golf. He enjoys collecting sporty things and has an impressive collection of football cards and cricket books. Apart from Sport, Michael loves reading and doing jigsaws, inventing games and going to films.

The theme for Michael's books has always been sport. THE LEGENDS series is big on sport. It is racy, very readable and written in a modern, topical style.

The premise of each book in the series is based around students who are competing to be the all round Legend of each sport at school. There are a mix of hero's and villain's and plenty of strong and interesting characters. At the end of each book there are maps and quizzes and lots of factual statistics for each sport.
