MARGO LANAGAN

Margo Lanagan was born in 1960 and brought up in Raymond Terrace and Melbourne. She has a wonderfully varies resume which includes a stint in a roadhouse on the Nullabor, an honours degree in history from the University of Sydney, and travel to London, Scandinavia, Tanzania, Greece and Ireland. In the late 1980’s she lived in Paris on a writing grant and since her return to Sydney in 1988, has worked a writer and freelance book editor.

She is a versatile writer who combines a sure sense of plot, with a deep understanding of children’s concerns and feelings. Margo’s books for readers aged 10-14 are The Tankerman, Wildgame and Walking Through Albert.

Her novels for teenages are The Best Thing and Touching Earth Lightly. Margo relates very well to teenagers and gives stimulating talks and writing workshops in schools.
