JOSHUA WRIGHT

AUTHOR / ILLUSTRATOR

Joshua Wright's childhood was spent playing war with his neighbours, building forts and collecting the bones of dead farm animals.

At school Josh enjoyed writing, drawing and trying to do as little actual work as possiblle. He was a Zen master at wagging and his score at the local video arcade on 'Golden Axe' stood for many years because of this uncanny ability - Joshua right, Shadow Student!

At university Josh had visions of becoming either a great Hollywood director or a famous cartoonist. On consulting an atlas, Josh realized he was about 10,000 kilometres south of Hollywood so he decided to stick to the art of funny pictures.

He soon discovered with his writing he could taint the minds of children everywhere and set upon becoming the master of mayhem for young readers. His first two titles, PLOTLESS, POINTLESS, PATHETIC and HAPLESS, HOPELESS, HORRIBLE, featuring the popular Sir Glame and Bill have been embraced by kids for their wild action and comic hi-jinks. GOOM, his latest follows the trend with another outrageous story filled with mad illustration and is a tale not fit for anyone who enjoys subtle, refined literature.

Josh is available for primary school audiences to talk about the world of writing and illustration. He can also say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious backwards, but only on by special request.
