Holly is an American-born writer living in Geneva, Switzerland, which means she speaks a lot of French and eats a lot of chocolate (she favors the dark kind). She writes both fiction and non-fiction.

She is one of the authors of GIRLZ ROCK!, a sister series to Boyz Rule!, published in Australia (by Macmillan), in the UK (by Rising Stars) and in the US (by Mondo).

Published titles include: DIARY DISASTER, HAIR SCARE, POOL PALS, and BOWLING BUDDIES.

Titles to be published in April, 2006 include: MUMMY MANIA, ESCALATOR ESCAPADE, DOG ON THE LOOSE, and COOKING CATASTROPHE.

 

The series features girls doing girls' stuff - hanging out, getting into scrapes and standing up to the boys. The books appeal to young readers, particularly girls in years 3 to 5. The series is written in dialogue format, encouraging shared and paired reading and presenting individual readers with short bursts of text. Each book also contains fun facts, jokes and quizzes related to the story.

Holly travels as much as possible, especially to Australia, and she will be here in August to help schools celebrate Bookweek. Even though she's firmly a Girlz Rock girl, Holly is friends with Boyz Rule Author Felice Arena, and he has been mentoring her with her school talks and he says that she is great with primary students - boys and girls. Well, she has been a corporate speaker, so she knows how to hold an audience!

Holly is married and has two wonderful stepchildren. When Holly is not writing, she moonlights as a consultant.
