CAROL JONES

Author

Carol Jones was born in Brisbane but has lived in Melbourne for most of her life. She has been a secondary English teacher and a children’s magazine editor and publisher.

Her most well-known works for young adults is her trilogy of novels Real Girls, Sibs and Goddess of Cool, which celebrate escapades of the politically incorrect (but totally cool) Bimbettes. These novels have been described as "deliciously funny" (The Sunday Age) and "young adult fiction of the highest order" (Magpies).

Other titles include girlfriendboyfriend, ,Just a Trucker’s Luck and Postcards From Hawaii, and for younger readers, Going De Loco. She is also the author of three secondary English texts and four primary maths texts.

Carol offers talks for any age group about her work in general or on a specific topic. She can run workshops on writing fiction, writing non-fiction in an interesting way, or the process of writing and editing magazines.
