are varied to cater for all age groups.
Anna

advice that apply to the students' own work!
WORKSHOPS WITH A TOUCH OF MAGIC
In
these workshops, Anna reveals the secrets behind
the making of the Viking Magic series, demonstrates
how she does illustrations, and shows her audience
how to make their own magic runestones!
SHOW AND TELL SESSIONS
For
these sessions, Anna draws on material from many
of the varied books she has written and illustrated.
Students see original mock-up books shown to publishers,
original artwork, demonstrations of illustrating
techniques, rough drafts, articles and material
used for research, research notes, samples of
the various stages of book production, and the
costumes worn by the children on the cover of
Runestone (members of the audience can try these
on).
HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS
These
vary from illustrating, writing or poetry workshops
to history alive workshops that re-enact activities
from the past. Students get involved with such
diverse activities as dressing up, role play,
Colonial games, experimenting with illustrating
techniques, making their own books, learning unusual
skills, and even food tasting - whatever is appropriate
to the theme you have chosen!
